I was waiting for the power station for a long time, because we have blackouts in Ukraine due to a missile attack from Russian murderers. First impression: “OMG, AC charger doesn’t work!!!” Lately, I connected it to a USB type-C PD AC charger and CTECHI started to charge. I became calmer. PD charger is a very good option. I tried to use another AC charger from my second power station and it charged CTECHI without any issues. Buying a new AC charger with a 5.5*2.5mm jack isn’t a problem and it’s cheap. As for the work of the power station – it gave us 2h15m of watching 55″ MiTV 4K content. A little bit less than I expected from the formula in the description because my 55″ TV consumes about 80 Watts per hour. So in fact, CTECHI gave me 180 Watts instead of the calculated 204 Watts (240 Wh * 0.85 because of 15% of losses). Overall, I recommend this station. It gives us the possibility to live better – I can continue to work and can spend blackout time without being bored during blackouts in Ukraine. But I would pay a little bit more for the 320Wh model. It looks like a better choice for the money. Peace and prosperity at your houses!
What a great device! I bought it last September and used it to power our Alpicool 12V car fridge continuously on a 6-day road trip. It performed flawlessly (and so did the Alpicool). The pass-through charging feature allowed us to plug in and recharge the power station at night while continuing to power the fridge. Back home, we are using it to power a 30W pump (for a garden fountain), using pass-through charging from a solar panel in the garden. No more extension cords across the patio! And wait–this is way cool–I added an Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug, and now I can turn the fountain on and off with a voice command! Covered by a fake rock, it’s safe from splashes.
AC plug.. which is the wall plug,, uses a lot of power, but other than that, it’s great.
This product has exceeded my expectations. Portability, power, and more. The more is the company’s amazing customer service. They go above and beyond. I couldn’t be happier with this power station. I can’t leave without mentioning the unmatched value. It’s the total package.
I bought this power station to use with an old telescope that requires AC for the clock drive. I also wanted a power station that could provide 12 VDC power for things like dew zappers and USB ports for other accessories. I have only had the power station for a few days, but here are my first impressions:
- Very solidly built. Connections on the front panel are tight and precise.
- Provides a lot of power at 200W continuous (300W peak) 240Wh. Had it outside for two hours last night, and there was over 80% power left (I was not running anything more than the clock drive).
- Dead silent. There are no hums or other noises, just the faint whir of the cooling fans audible only when you are really close to it.
- A very useful selection of cables is provided with it. This power station provided more cables than any of the others I considered.
A couple of things I’d like to see improved:
- By default, the AC is provided at 50 Hz. You can switch to 60 Hz (important for the operation of a clock drive) by holding down the LED light button, pressing the Power button for 3 seconds (from OFF), and then releasing the LED light button first (the provided instructions are a little unclear on this). This is not too hard after you get the hang of it, but unfortunately, your selection is not permanent…you have to change the frequency to 60 Hz every time you power on.
- The power station features advanced battery management, and one feature is that it automatically shuts off DC and USB power if there is no substantial draw (under 100 mA) for 3 minutes. This can be a problem in astronomy where DC accessories use little or no power for a while, but then need power to be instantly available. There is an LED light and Power button sequence that disables this feature, but again it is not permanent — you have to disable it every time you power on.
- In both of these cases, I’d like to see the power station remember the last selection and maintain it until changed by the user.
- The only indication that the above changes have been successful is a one-time code of flashes of the station’s LED display. So you can’t look at the status display and see the selected configuration. There appears to be enough room to make the LED display slightly larger so it could accommodate simple icons to show these selections.
- The two AC outlets are quite close together, vertically oriented, and arranged side by side. There is just enough space to get two grounded plugs into the outlets at the same time. A grounded plug with a MacBook charging brick is a tight friction fit (but worked). It would be nice to have just a little more room here.
So, all in all, with my very limited use so far, I am very pleased with this power station. I will update this review as I get more experience. I would just like to see some engineering changes so it saves and recalls the previous configuration selections, and permanent frequency and battery management indicators on the LED display.
